Salomé Lamas (Lisbon) studied cinema in Lisbon and Prague, visual arts in Amsterdam and is a Ph.D candidate in contemporary art studies in Coimbra.

Lamas was granted several fellowships such as the Gardner Film Study Center Fellowship – Harvard University, Film Study Center-Harvard Fellowship, The Rockefeller Foundation – Bellagio Center, Brown Foundation – Dora Maar House, Fundación Botín, Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, Sundance, Bogliasco Foundation, The MacDowell Colony, Yaddo, Camargo Foundation, Berliner Künstlerprogramm des DAAD.

She collaborates with Universidade Católica Portuguesa and Elias Querejeta Zine Eskola. She collaborates with the production company O Som e a Fúria and is represented by Galeria Miguel Nabinho and Kubikgallery.

Patrícia Garrido graduated in painting at the Escola Superior de Belas-Artes in Lisbon (ESBAL). She has participated in numerous group exhibitions which include: Mais Tempo, Menos História, Serralves Foundation, Porto (1996); O Império Contra-Ataca, Galeria ZDB, Lisbon (1998); Squatters, Galeria do CRUARB, Porto (2001). Solo exhibitions include: T1, Serralves Foundation, Porto (1998); Móveis ao Cubo, Desenhos ao Acaso, TREM Galeria Municipal de Arte, Faro (2009); Peças Mais ou Menos Recentes, EDP Foundation, Museu Nacional Soares dos Reis and Galeria Fernando Santos, Porto (2013).

Artist Bio

For me nonfiction is a sort of a rabbit hole. Another thing I’m very much attached to is the notion of parafiction. Today we welcome make-believe and plausibility against authenticity. The limits of documentary filmmaking involve this idea that the documentary is constructed upon reality.
